 In
2009 NoVa West Lacrosse and
SMS Lacrosse embarked on a very
successful mission called
Outbreak.
The two clubs combined their best players and
entered them into elite recruiting tournaments.
The team was very successful and the players
benefitted through very positive recruiting
exposure.
In 2011 NoVa West is dedicated to taking the
Outbreak Program to the next level. We feel that
a Virginia Outbreak program
would be the type of program that college
coaches would love to recruit. With the growth
of lacrosse in Virginia there are watered down
summer programs popping up all over the place
and the end result is teams that have very few
players that coaches would want to see. With
the concept of Outbreak we would enter 26 elite
players from all parts of Virginia in four elite
tournaments providing an unparalleled
opportunity for exposure. NoVa West would also
market these players like we do our current
players at no additional cost to the player.
How do I make the squad?
In 2011 each participating club will nominate players to
tryout for the Outbreak squad. As part of
the NoVa West Flamingos or Crusaders players
will be permitted to tryout. Keep
in mind that the mission of this team is to put the best
possible talent on the field in the best recruiting
tournaments with the best summer coaching in an effort to
get all the players on the team positive exposure with the
best lacrosse programs in the country.
Nominating Players
We are in the process of notifying High School &
Club coaches all over Virginia about this
opportunity. We ask that the coaches nominate
players via our Outbreak nomination form (http://www.novawestlax.com/team/outbreak/nominate.asp)

2010/2011 Communication - In an effort to keep
all our interested players and families notified
about our offerings we have started a FaceBook group
that we communicate to on a daily basis. Join the

Eligibility
The Outbreak squad will be made up of 26-28 players. If you are interested in an open tryouts
please contact us at
admin@NoVaWestLAX.com.
Virginia Outbreak
requires a minimum GPA of 2.7 from all the players
wishing to tryout.
Why do we require this? Because we want to consider
ourselves unique among summer select teams in that our mission
is to maintain a very high percentage of our players making
it to the next level. Most college coaches will not even
talk to players with GPAs lower than 2.5 so we feel by
putting this restriction on our players that we will be able
to work with them and get them placed into a quality
collegiate program.

These uniforms were voted the freshest summer gear during
the 2009 Brine Shootout.
This combined team will be coached by the most elite
coaching staff in the area for a summer program. The
staff has over 60 combined years of coaching experience not
to mention the experience this staff has with assisting
players with their recruiting needs.
