Do |
Call &
email coaches frequently, coaches really like to
have players showing interest in their programs.
If a coach is interested in you he can only call you
as frequently as NCAA rules permit however you can
call him as frequently as you would like. |
|
Don't |
Pick a
school based on only Lacrosse! Before you make
your selection imagine that you have blown out your
knee and that you lacrosse career is over. Is
that school where you would want to be? If the
answer is no then look for a different school,
ultimately you are using lacrosse to get you and
education, you are not using education to let you
play lacrosse! |
|
Do |
Work hard
in the classroom and on your SATs! Because
there are a limited number of scholarship units for
lacrosse programs coaches try to get you academic
awards, make sure your GPA and SAT scores are high
enough to take advantage of these academic
scholarships. Each college's web site will
explain these awards in the admissions section under
financial aid. |
|
Don't |
Don't
Brag! Remember that schools have limited
resources with regards to scholarship units, if you
brag that you're being recruited and 15 other players
knock on that same door you may find yourself
holding an empty sack at the end of the day! |
|
Do |
Work Out
in the off season! The collegiate level will
be played against competition that is bigger and
faster. Get your body ready now! |
|
Don't |
Use
illegal substances! Any incident involving and
illegal substance or even alcohol will jeopardize
any opportunity of being recruited. Coaches do
not want to chance wasting scholarship dollars on a
player that may not be there for them. The
NCAA now has approved drug testing so don't blow an
opportunity. |
